palingates
palingates: the actress who played
the part of a feisty young woman with Down
Syndrome has responded to the Palin's supposed
outrage.
My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was
born with Down syndrome. I played the
role of Ellen on the 'Extra Large Medium'
episode of Family Guy that was broadcast
on Valentine's day. Although they gave
me red hair on the show, I am really a
blonde. I also wore a red wig for my
role in ' Smudge' but I was a blonde in
'Life Goes On'. I guess former Governor
Palin does not have a sense of humor. I
thought the line 'I am the daughter
of the former governor of Alaska' was
very funny. I think the word is 'sarcasm'.
In my family we think laughing is good.
My parents raised me to have a sense
of humor and to live a normal life.
My mother did not carry me around
under her arm like a loaf of French bread
the way former Governor Palin carries
her son Trig around
looking for sympathy and votes.
Yeah!

Process of Illumination: Hallelujah Lyrics (Leonard Cohen)
Process of Illumination: Hallelujah Lyrics (Leonard Cohen)
how i do love this song. it's almost immaterial
who's singing it. this page gives the fullest
lyrics i've found and i'm going to copy them
so i don't lose them. i would love to hear
someone sing every single verse all at once.
Hallelujah Leonard Cohen
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her
She tied you To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
Well, baby, I've been here before.
I've seen this room, and I've walked this floor.
I used to live alone before I knew you.
But I've seen your flag on the marble arch,
And love is not a victory march,
It's a cold and it is a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah
Well, there was a time when you'd let me know
What's really going on below,But now you never show that to me, do you?
But remember when I moved in you,
And the Holy Ghost was moving too,
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah
Well, maybe there is a God above,
But all that I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you.
It's not a cry that you hear at night,
And it is not somebody who has seen the light
It's a cold and it is a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah

Paul Slansky: The Horror! The Horror!
Paul Slansky: The Horror! The Horror!: In our lifetime, has there ever been a worse human
being in American politics than
Sarah Palin? For all the morons
and criminals and bigots we've
been subjected to, has there been
anyone else who has combined all
of the fetid qualities --
the proud ignorance, the sadistic
viciousness, the shameless hypocrisy,
the arrogant laziness, the
congenital dishonesty, the unctuous
sanctimony, the bilious resentment,
and whichever others I'm forgetting
for the moment -- that this morals-free
harridan so relentlessly displays?
(Not to mention that atonal bray with
which she communicates it all.)
I really want to be done with Palin.
But she pops up and up and up, and i just
wanted to share this, because it is so
well done. he covers the horror pretty
damn well.
Who am i, what am i
